Schedule Report Function - Introduction

This function basically allows system administrator to manage scheduled offline, or background report extraction.

Scheduled offline or background report extraction is essential for banks or financial institutions for several reasons, namely:

  • Data Integrity and Accuracy: The vast amount of data (e.g., customer transactions, account balances, credit facility details and related regulatory compliance reports) will be consistently and accurately captured from various sources (such as the databases, legacy systems, and external partners).

  • Regulatory Compliance: Banks or financial institutions are subject to strict regulations and reporting requirements, from time to time. The ability to allow for regular scheduling of offline report extraction allows them to generate the required compliance reports (such as Anti-Money Laundering reports, Basel III reports, or tax-related reports) timely, without disrupting any real-time operations.

  • Performance Optimization: The ability to extract data in the background during off-peak hours minimizes the impact on system performance, preventing from slowing down critical banking processes, which will affect customer service and transaction processing.

  • Resource Management: Scheduled report extraction allows banks or financial institutions to allocate resources more efficiently, e.g., some other servers maybe used for data extraction during non-peak times, thus, freeing up resources for other more critical tasks during business hours.

  • Batch Processing: Background report extraction often involves batch processing, thus banks or financial institutions can aggregate and process the data in large volume by batches, which is more efficient as it reduces the strain on servers and databases, when compared to handling individual records one by one.
