Product Maintenance Function - Fields Description

At this function, user will come across various fields or columns that needs to be maintained with relevant data.

The descriptions of the respective field or column, are as follows:-

<Product Maintenance> Panel

Main Info (Sub-Panel)

Product Code

This is the unique reference code of the respective product.

Product Name

This is the brief description of the respective product.

Banking Concept

This is an indicator whether a product comprises parameters that follow a certain banking concept.

Presently, the only available banking concept is the 'C - Conventional' option.

Module

This is area in system that the respective product code is to be applied, e.g., LN - Financing.

Product Line

This is the product group under a system module, e.g., for module 'LN - Financing', e.g., 'PL - Personal Loan'.

Status

This is the status of the respective product code.

The options, are as follows:

  • A - Active (Product is available for use and can be selected to be tagged at other function)

  • I - Inactive (Product has not been made available for use yet. 'Effective Date' is still a future date)

  • S - Suspended (Product has been suspended by user manually and cannot be used anymore)

  • E - Expired (Product that has earlier been made available for use has now expired and no longer available for use)

Note:

  • There is another product status known as 'U -Unused'. Product will change its status from either 'I - Inactive', or 'A -Active' to 'U - Unused' once user had performed deletion of the product using this function.

  • However, this 'Product Maintenance' function does not allow user to view the list of 'U -Unused' status of products.

  • This panel will be displayed, when the function is opened.

  • The purposes of this panel, are as follows:-

    • Access point to maintain new products.

    • View the list of products, created earlier.

    • Access point to maintain the details existing products.

Product Details (Panel)

Main Info. (Sub-Panel)

Product Code

This is the unique reference code of the respective product.

Product Name

This is the brief description of the respective product.

Banking Concept

This is area in system that the respective product code is to be applied, e.g., LN - Financing.

This is the product group under a system module, e.g., for module 'LN - Financing', e.g., 'PL - Personal Loan'.

Status

This is the status of the respective product code.

The options, are as follows:

  • A - Active (Product is available for use and can be selected to be tagged at other function)

Note:

Effective Date

This is the product availability commencement date for use, or selection at other system functions.

This is the last date of which a product will be available for use, or selection at other system functions.

Business Unit

This is to indicate the business section or unit or department of the bank, or a financial organisation (e.g., Corporate or Retail), that can access the product.

Note:

This field is optional, as not all banks or financial institutions practices only certain of its units or departments can use certain products.

Company Code

This is to indicate the company code of the bank, or financial organisation that can access the product.

Ccy

This is the currency code and description of the respective product, e.g., MYR - Malaysian Ringgit.

Product Category Code

This is the further categorisation of a product under a products line,.e.g, PL -Personal Loans.

External Product Description

This is the unique code of the related external product. This field is only applicable for the purpose of mapping the product to an external system’s product, e.g., as in the case of a digital system’s product code.

Load

This is the button to be clicked once, for system to retrieve the related parameters to be displayed for data input or overwrite.

Note: This button will be available for the 'Manual' option to create product.

Copy Product

This is the button to be clicked for system to display the 'Product Selection' pop-up window, for the selection of the relevant product to copy the related parameter values, to create a new product.

Product (Section)

Category

This is the unique code associated with the respective category of product parameter.

Description

This is the unique code and brief details, associated with the respective product parameter.

Value

This is the respective non-currency impacted product parameter’s value.

Account (Section)

Category

This is the unique code associated with the respective category of account parameter.

Description

This is the unique code and brief details, associated with the respective account parameter.

Value

This is the respective non-currency impacted account parameter’s value.

Product Based On Ccy (Section)

Category

This is the unique code associated with the respective category of product parameter.

Description

This is the unique code and brief details, associated with the respective product parameter.

Value

This is the respective currency impacted product parameter’s value.

Account Based On Ccy (Section)

Category

This is the unique code associated with the respective category of account parameter.

Description

This is the unique code and brief details, associated with the respective account parameter.

Value

This is the respective currency impacted account parameter’s value.

Fees and Charges (Section)

Charge Category

This is the group code and brief description of the respective fee, or charge item, e.g., DISBFEE - Disbursement Fee.

Payment Option

This is the method of which the respective product’s fee or charge item, is to be collected in the related account, subsequently.

The options, are as follows:

  • N - Pay Upfront (Pay by customer via Front Desk’s 'Repayment' transaction in the available transaction modes)

  • Y - Deduct From Proceed (Deducted from a related transaction amount)

Item Code

This is the unique code associated with the respective fee, or charge item to be imposed on the product, e.g., PRO - PROCESSING FEES.

Charge Ccy

This is the code and brief description of the respective currency to be applied to the fee or charge item in the product.

Charge Code

This is the code and brief description of the respective charge scheme to be used for the computation of the related fee, or charge item, in the product.

Note: Charge schemes are user-definable via the 'Charge Code' function.

This panel will be displayed in the followings manners:-

  • Upon user clicking once on the Proceed button, at the 'Create Product' pop-up window, in attempt to create new products.

  • Upon user clicking once on the Reset icon of a product code.

The purposes of this panel, are as follows:-

  • Maintain the relevant field values or column values, including parameter values and product fee or item for each selected product code.

  • View the details of each selected product code.

Create Product (Pop-Up Window)

Copy From Existing or Manual

This is the radio button option that indicates whether the new product is to be created by, either replicating the parameter values from an existing product’s parameters, or, based on manual input of vale into each of the relevant parameter fields and columns.

Note:

  • For the 'Manual' option, after user has clicked once on the 'Proceed' button in the pop-up window, user will need to click once on the 'Load' button for system to retrieve all the related parameters for data input.

  • For the 'Copy From Existing' option, after user has clicked once on the 'Proceed' button, system will automatically display the copied product’s parameter values.

<Selected Method to Create Product>

This is the selected manner to create the product, either, Copy From Existing or Manual, dependent on the selection made at the field above.

Proceed

This is the button to be clicked once, to exit from this 'Create Product' pop-up window and populate certain main product details inputted into the 'Product Details. panel

Cancel

This is the button to be clicked once, not to proceed further and exit from this 'Create Product' pop-up window.

<Copy from Existing> Panel

This panel will be display for the Copy From Existing' option of product creation.

New Product Code

This is the unique code of the product to be created.

New Product Name

This is the brief description of the product to be created.

Module

This is area in system that the respective product code is to be applied, e.g., LN - Financing.

Product Line

This is the product group under a system module, e.g., for module 'LN - Financing', e.g., 'PL - Personal Loan'.

Copy From Product Code

This is the unique reference code of the respective product that can be selected, to be copied of the related parameter values for the new product creation.

Product Name

This is the brief description of the respective product code.

<Manual> Panel

This panel will be display for the 'Manual' option of product creation.

Module

This is the currency code and description of the respective product, e.g., MYR - Malaysian Ringgit.

  • The purpose of this window is to allow users to create products from existing product templates, existing product categories, or manually.

  • This window will be pop up once user has clicked once on the CreateNewRecord button located at the Product Maintenance sub-panel.

Product Selection (Pop-Up Window)

Product Code

This is the unique reference code of the respective product.

Product Name

This is the brief description of the respective product code

Effective Date

This is the product availability commencement date for use, or selection at other system functions.

  • This window will be pop up once user has clicked once on the 'Copy Product' button, located Product Details panel.

  • The purpose of this window is to allow user to select the relevant product to copy all the related parameters and parameter values for the creation of each product.

Fees & Charges Details (Pop-Up Window)

Charge Category

This is the group code and brief description of the respective fee, or charge item, e.g., DISBFEE - Disbursement Fee.

  • This window will be displayed, after user has clicked once on the Add button, locate at the 'Fee and Charges Details' section.

  • The purposes of this window is to allow user to maintain the fee or charge item to be imposed or has been imposed on the respective selected product.

Charge Code LOV (Pop-Up Window)

Charge Code

This is the unique code associated with the respective charge scheme, to be used for the computation of the related fee, or charge item in a product.

Note: Charge codes are user-definable via the 'Charge Code' function.

Description

This is the brief details of the respective charge scheme.

  • This window will be displayed, after user has mouse over the 'Charge Code' field, and then pressed once on the 'Enter' key on the keyboard.

  • The purpose of this window is for user to select the relevant charge scheme to be used for the computation of the related product fee or charge item.
