How to Manually Invoke Periodic Tasks in System?

There are basically 7 functions available in system that are related to the Periodic Tasks Invocation, as follows:-

  1. Open Branch

  2. Close Branch

  3. Manual Periodic

  4. Periodic Schedule Maintenance

  5. Start Stop Periodic Scheduler

  6. Periodic Task Monitor

  7. Error Task Execution

Before any transactions can be performed following the completion of the 'Start-of-Day' (SOD) process, which has been invoked manually, user needs to update the status of all the branches of the bank or financial institution to 'Open', using the Open Branch function.

After all the required transactions have been performed in system for the day, and before the 'End-of-Day' (EOD) process can be invoked manually to commence, user needs to update the status of all the branches of the bank or financial institution to 'Close', using the Close Branch function.

To manually invoke the relevant periodic process (SOD or EOD or EOM process), user can use the Manual Periodic function.

To schedule the SOD, or EOD, or EOM periodic process to take place on a certain scheduled date and time, automatically, user can use the Periodic Schedule Maintenance function. For scheduled periodic tasks, the status update of all the related branches to either 'Open' or 'Close' in the bank or financial institution will also take place automatically.

For some reasons, if the scheduled periodic process is required to be either stopped or recommenced, use the Start Stop Periodic Scheduler function.

Use the 'Periodic Task Monitor' function, to monitor and view periodic tasks details (including brief error details) and progress.

Use the 'Error Task Execution' function, to view the periodic tasks that contained errors during periodic process and to re-submit the fixed periodic tasks for execution.

For manual periodic process invocation purpose:-

  1. Upon successful logon to the system, proceed to search for the Manual Periodic function from the Tree Menu, displayed on the left-hand side of the screen. Scroll up and down, if necessary.

  2. Mouse over the Manual Periodic function name and click once on it.

  3. Then, the selected function screen will be displayed at the right-hand side of the system’s screen, provided the user has access rights granted by system administrator.

  4. Select the 'Time Zone' and 'Periodic Type'.

  5. Proceed to 'Start' periodic process.

Note:

Once user had clicked once on this 'Start' button, system will validate the following, before proceeding to start the selected periodic type of jobs, or task processing:-

  • SOD (Start-Of-Day Process)

    • EOD must be completed, then only system can commence SOD.

    • If the present periodic type is EOD, system will allow user to select either the 'SOD', or the 'EOM' option.

  • EOD (End-Of-Day Process)

    • SOD must be completed before system can proceed to perform EOD. Otherwise, if user has selected the 'EOD' at the 'Periodic Type' field when SOD has not been completed, system will prompt an error message and will not allow the user to proceed further.

  • EOM (End-Of-Month Process)

    • EOD must be completed, then only can perform EOM.

    • If at the 'Periodic Type' field, user has selected the 'EOM' option, system will default the last day of the month to be displayed at the 'Processing Date' field.
