Assign Override (Assign & Perform Override) Function - Introduction

It is very common in a bank or financial institution that counter signing (an act similar to 'overriding' in system) by a supervisor is required on various tasks performed. This is for dual control purpose, as a mitigation plan to reduce errors that can be costly to the bank or financial institution.

This function will only appear, upon user clicking once on the last action button and confirmed to proceed with the action at the respective function, e.g., upon clicking once at the Save button, and then, confirming to proceed with data saving. The setting to require a certain function to subject to the supervisor override can be pre-maintained via the Function Authority function.

This function basically allows to do the following:-

  • The user (maker) to assign a task override to supervisor (checker) up to 2 levels.

  • The assigned supervisor to perform override approval, where the override approval task can be sent, to be performed either at same machine, locally (at maker’s machine) or remotely (maker and checker using separate machine).

User may search for override tasks that have been assigned to him at the Officer Work Desk function, as follows:-

  • If user is looking for a task to perform an override approval, look for the task under the Pending Override tasks category.

  • If user is enquiring on the override status on a task, look for the task under the Override Status tasks category.
