Branch Function - Fields Description

At this function, user will come across various fields or columns that needs to be maintained with relevant data.

The descriptions of the respective field or column, are as follows:-

Branch Maintenance (Panel)

Branch Code

This is the unique code number of an existing branch.

Branch Level

This is the branch level of respective branch.

The available options, are as follows:-

  • D - Data Centre (for administrator to access and perform the batch processing)

  • H - Head Office (for operations monitoring operations)

  • R - Regional Office (for monitoring of a few branches under a region)

  • B - Branch (for operational branch with possibly multiple mini branches)

Branch Name

This is the name of the branch associated with a branch code.

Manager Name

This is the name of the respective branch manager.

Region Code

This is the code associated with the specific district or territory, in which the respective branch is located, e.g., 02 - Pacific Region or 03 - West Region.

<Branch Maintenance Listing> (Sub-Panel)

Branch

This is the unique code number of an existing branch.

Branch Name

This is the name of the branch associated with a branch code.

Branch Level

This is the branch level of respective branch.

The possible options, are as follows:-

  • D - Data Centre (for administrator to access and perform the batch processing)

  • H - Head Office (for operations monitoring operations)

  • R - Regional Office (for monitoring of a few branches under a region)

  • B - Branch (for operational branch with possibly multiple mini branches)

Manager Name

This is the name of the respective branch manager.

Branch Region

This is the code associated with the specific district or territory, in which the respective branch is located, e.g., 02 - Pacific Region or 03 - West Region.

  • This panel will be displayed, when the function screen has opened.

  • The purposes of this panel, are as follows:-

    • To view the list of branches maintained in system.

    • Access point to view the details of each selected branch.

Branch Details (Panel)

Branch

This is the unique code number of an existing branch.

Branch Name

This is the name of the branch associated with a branch code.

Branch Level

This is the branch level of respective branch.

The available options, are as follows:-

  • D - Data Centre (for administrator to access and perform the batch processing)

  • H - Head Office (for operations monitoring operations)

  • R - Regional Office (for monitoring of a few branches under a region)

  • B - Branch (for operational branch with possibly multiple mini branches)

Branch Type

This is the classification of a branch, e.g., 01 - Normal Branch or 02 - Head Office.

Manager Name

This is the name of the respective branch manager.

Phone No.

This is the branch’s contact numbers.

Branch Region

This is the code associated with the specific district or territory in which a branch is located, e.g., PAC - Pacific Region or WES - West Region.

Region District

This is the name of a specific district or territory defined by a bank or financial institution.

Address 1

This is the 1st line of the corresponding address of a bank, or financial institution.

Address 2

This is the 2nd line of the corresponding address of a bank, or financial institution.

Address 3

This is the 3rd line of the corresponding address of a bank, or financial institution.

Address 4

This is the 4th line of the corresponding address of a bank, or financial institution.

Address 5

This is the 5th line of the corresponding address of a bank, or financial institution.

Country

This is the country where a bank, or financial institution is located, e.g., MY - Malaysia.

State

A state refers to a tract of land containing a territory of an independent constitution in a country. Therefore, the value in this field refers to the code associated with a state, e.g., 13 - Selangor where a bank is located.

City

City essentially refers to a large and permanent settlement distinguished from a town, that have a particular administrative, legal and historical status based on local law, e.g., Petaling Jaya. This refers to a code associated with a city, e.g., B01 - Petaling Jaya.

District

A district is a sub-division of a city, e.g., District of Petaling.

Postcode

This is the short sequences of numbers and/ or letters at the end of addresses, which are used by post office as reference in the sorting of mail for distribution. It is also known as a zip code, or postal code. Therefore, this refers to the postal code of the banker. It depends on the postal code format of the banker’s country.

Time Zone

A time zone refers to a region that observes a uniform standard time for legal, commercial, and social purposes. The data in this field refers to the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) time zones in which the branch is located, e.g., KL - GMT + 8.00.

Banking Concept

This is the banking concept applied in the branch, e.g., C - Conventional.

Central Bank Assigned Branch Code

This is the branch number provided by Central Bank for cheque clearing purpose.

Branch Abbreviation Code

This is the abbreviated code number of a branch.

Locale

This is a parameter that defines user’s language that user wants to see in their user interface screen, e.g., system application function.

FIS

This is the financial institution or company number provided by the Financial Information Services Sdn Bhd (FIS).

  • This panel will be displayed, after user has clicked once on the Details icon of a branch record.

  • The purpose of this panel is to allow user to maintain or overwrite the details of each selected branch record.
