Reinstate ROPA Function - Introduction

Real and Other Properties Acquired (ROPA) basically refers to properties acquired by the bank or financial institution as settlement for uncollected loans or past due accounts not paid upon its maturity by the respective borrower, through foreclosure or dation in payment and/ or for other reasons, whose carrying amount will be recovered principally through a sale transaction.

Once the collateral item of related credit facility accounts have been processed as a ROPA item, all outstanding in the respective account will be settled.

But due to certain reasons, this collateral item can be removed as a ROPA item by this function Reinstate ROPA. Thus, the status of the collateral will be updated as ' R - Reinstated from ROPA'.
